The story of the artwork

“Light of Giving”

“Light of Giving” is an artwork inspired by a vision that came to me just before sleep. The very next day, I chose to transcribe it faithfully onto canvas, turning that image into a composition where texture, colour and symbol speak to one another.

The two forms represent two beings united by a relationship. One embodies the person who gives without counting, offering their energy, time and love to the point of forgetting themselves. The other symbolises the person who receives, grows and moves forward thanks to what they are given. The path of petals expresses this invisible movement of giving, while the golden petal at the heart of the composition is a reminder that true harmony is born of the balance between giving and receiving.

With this artwork, I am not only trying to depict a human relationship, but to evoke a universal reflection on love, friendship, family and generosity. The textures, made entirely by hand, strengthen this narrative and invite everyone to find in the composition an echo of their own story.

Two vertical canvases of 100 × 30 cm (39.4 × 11.8 in) each: “Light of Giving” dresses a tall, narrow wall, either side of a door, a bed or a fireplace, or side by side in a living room to draw a vertical line that lifts the space. The gold petal at the heart of the composition catches the light.

Hung together, the two canvases look best a few centimetres apart: enough to breathe, close enough for the path of petals to read from one to the other. Allow about 2 m (6.5 ft) of distance to see the whole piece. “See it in your home” helps you choose the layout.

How should I hang the two canvases?

Side by side, at the same height, with an even gap of a few centimetres: this is how the composition is meant to be read. They can also frame a piece of furniture or an opening, as long as they face each other at the same level.

Are the two canvases sold separately?

No. “Light of Giving” is a single artwork in two parts: giving and receiving only make sense together. They are delivered together with a signed certificate of authenticity.

How is the artwork delivered?
